On December 24th, the establishment of the China Association for Science and Technology Intelligent Manufacturing Society Association was held in Beijing. Shang Yong (Party Group Secretary, Executive Vice President, the Major Secretary of Secretariat of the China Association for Science and Technology), Academician Zhou Ji (Director-General of the China Association for Science and Technology Intelligent Manufacturing Society Association, Dean of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Honorary Director-General of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society), Academician Li Jinghai (Vice president of the China Association for Science and Technology, Vice Dean and party member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences), Xue Yiping (Executive Vice President of the China Machinery Industry Federation), attended the meeting and delivered speeches. The meeting was presided by Yang Qingxin (Vice Director-General of the Association, Director-General of the Chinese Electrotechnical Society, President of Tianjin Polytechnic University).

Xiang Changle (member of the party group, Secretary of the Secretariat of the China Association for Science and Technology), Song Jun (member of the party group and Director of Academic Department of the China Association for Science and Technology, Director of the Office of Corporate Work); Sun Ruizhe (Vice President of the Association), Zhang Yanmin (Secretary General of the Association), and 11 representatives from the council member units of the Association; 27 representatives from the Committee of Experts of the Association, including Academician Li Peigen, Academician Jiang Zhuangde, Academician Zhou Liwei, Academician Ye Shenghua, Academician Gu Guobiao, Academician Gui Weihua, Academician Yan ChuLiang, etc.; more than 100 representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Chinese Academy of Engineering and other relevant ministries, enterprises, universities, research institutes attended the establishment meeting.

Shang Yong pointed out in his speech that the establishment of the China Association for Science and Technology Association of Intelligent Manufacturing Society by 11 national associations related to the intelligent manufacturing to which China Association for Science and Technology subordinates, is conducive to enhancing the technological innovation capability and core competitiveness of intelligent manufacturing industry of China, promoting the effective integration of enterprises, scientific research institutions and higher education institutions in the strategic level, enhancing the intelligent manufacturing capacity and level of China, and promoting the manufacturing industry of China to achieve strategic breakthroughs and development. He stressed that the Association of Intelligent Manufacturing Society should adhere to the functional positioning of constructing high-end think tank, building academic exchange platform, collaborative innovation service platform and talents training platform, with intelligent manufacturing projects as the main line, vigorously strengthen the intelligent manufacturing international communication capacity and build high-level international communication stage; contact a number of R & D bases and platforms in intelligent manufacturing field, concentrate resources to accomplish large undertakings; contact a group of intelligent manufacturing demonstration cities and demonstration industry parks, promote and apply intelligent manufacturing technology. He hoped that the Association of Intelligent Manufacturing Society can effectively integrate all aspects of resources, gather all aspects of strength, unite and lead the broad masses of science and technology workers to promote the rapid development of China’s intelligent manufacturing industry and the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries to help China’s real economy bigger and stronger, and make a new and greater contribution to build a well-off society in an all-round way and make China as the world’s science and technology power and achieve the “Chinese dream” of great rejuvenation for the Chinese nation.

Zhou Ji made a special report centering on intelligent manufacturing in the founding conference, setting forth the significance, foreign and domestic development situation, development opportunities and developing direction of intelligent manufacturing. He stressed that establishment of the China Association for Science and Technology Association of Intelligent Manufacturing Society was a demand to go with the development trend of global science and technology, help the innovation-driven development strategy and promote the implementation of “Made in China 2025”, and important measure to implement the spirit of “three conferences for science and technology”. With the principle of “fairness, justice, openness, co-construction, share and win-win”, the association of the society will absolutely become an important power to greatly promote development of intelligent manufacturing of China, proceeding from improving the technical innovating ability and core competence of intelligent manufacturing industry of China and with the joint efforts of each member unit and expert.

Academician Li Peigen, Director of Expert Committee of the Association for Intelligent Manufacturing Society and Director-General of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, said that the expert committee would provide expert suggestions on counseling research of prospective decisions and evaluation of establishment of major policies for the association to carry out state strategies, scientific and technological development and industrial policies related to the intelligent manufacturing area, and it would gradually become an important research strength for the state to implement the “Made in China 2025” strategy. Zhang Yanmin, the first secretary-general of the association, reported the working conditions to preparations of the association.

Relevant leading comrades from office departments and subordinate units such as the Research and Publicity Department of China Association for Science and Technology, Academic Department of the Association, Research Institute of Creation and Strategy and Service Center of the Association attended the meeting.

After the meeting, China Association for Science and Technology Intelligent Manufacturing Society held the 1st meeting of the first council, deliberating and passing the “China Association Regulations for Science and Technology Intelligent Manufacturing Society” and the list of committee of experts, listening to the key work arrangement of the association and discussing next work deployment of the association.

China Association for Science and Technology Intelligent Manufacturing Society is jointly launched and established by 11 associations of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, China Instrument and Control Society, China Automotive Engineering Institute, China Electrotechnical Society, Chinese Institute of Electronics, Chinese Association of Automation, Chinese Society for Agricultural Machinery, Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence, Chinese Society of Micro-nano Technology, Chinese Society of Optical Engineering and China Textile Engineering Society. The member units also include 15 enterprises, 10 scientific research institutions and 11 colleges and universities. It is understood that the association for intelligent manufacturing institute is the 5th institute association established by the China Association for Science and Technology, which has built the Associations for Life Sciences Society, Military and Civilian Integration Institute, Clean Energy Institute and Institute of Science and Technology Information successively before.
